Russ Sarip has double-double as SG Shooting Stars get back on track with 44-points victory over Tronix

SINGAPORE – SG Shooting Stars got back on the winning track, downing the struggling Tronix, 78-34, in Gilas Basketball 2017 Republika Cup at Yusof Ishak Secondary School.

Russ Sarip led SG Shooting Stars to a strong start as they held Tronix to score only 6 points in the first quarter while having 18 points on the board.

Sarip finished the game with a double-double of 13 points, 10 assists and 6 rebounds,

Mohd Gaddafi came up with 14 points, 12 boards and 4 block shots while Bores-Leonori Ignacio added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists for SG Shooting Stars, who bounce back from their previous loss to Pampanga and finished the positioning round with a 3-2 win-loss record.

SG Shooting Stars dominated the inside game as they outscored Tronix in points inside the paint, 54-14. They also shared the basketball better registering 27 assists against 11 by Tronix.

No player from Tronix scored in double figure. Kenny Palisoc led Tronix with 7 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists.

Arvin Lazaro came up with 6 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists while Alvin bajada chipped-in 6 markers for Tronix, who loss their third straight game and dropped to 1-3 in win-loss card.
