SINGAPORE – Bicol put on a huge first half show and cruised to a 75-61 victory over the Batangas Pride in the Gilas Basketball 2017 Inter-Town Tournament at West Spring Secondary School sponsored by GB Sports LLP and Sneakers Club.
Bhart Castro led the way for Bicol, who overpowered Batangas Pride in the first half, 43-30 and they never looked back.
Castro finished the game with 21 points on 8 of 18 shooting, including 3 of 7 from beyond the arc, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished out 4 assists.
Waller Granada added 12 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals while Jonathan Gupana came off the bench to chipped-in 9 markers, 6 rebounds and 3 assists for Bicol, who bounced back form their last week loss to VisMin and improved to 2-1 in win-loss card.
Bicol run and gun game was too much for Batangas, as they outscored Batangas, 26-8 in fast break points. They also imposed their might inside the shaded area outscoring Batanags Pride in points inside the paint, 42-30.
Gian Pascua led Batangas Pride with 15 points and 6 rebounds in 27 minutes of action.
Dedz Cascalla had 14 points and 3 rebounds while Mark Quiambao added 8 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists for Batangas Pride, who absorbed their first loss and dropped to 1-1 in win-loss card.
