ASM hold off Sunray to break three-game slide slump behind Rodel Rosario steady plays

SINGAPORE – Rodel Rosario led ASM out of its three-game skid with a morale-boosting win, 58-51, over Sunray in Gilas Basketball 2017 Inter-Company Cup at Yusof Ishak Secondary School.

Rosario stepped up in this game to give ASM their first win of the season. He finished the game with 13 points on 6 of 8 shooting and grabbed 8 rebounds.

Jeffrey Ballesteros added 11 markers and 2 rebounds in 16 minutes of action, while Ibyang Dela Vega came off the bench to deliver 8 points and 4 assists for ASM, who improved to 1-3 in win-loss card.

ASM imposed their will inside the shaded area as they outscored Sunray, 44-28, in points inside the paint. They also outrebounded Sunray, 35-26.

Enrique Ronquillo led Sunray with a double-double of 12 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks

Raphael Del Rosario had 13 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists, while Vernon Cosio chipped-in 8 markers and 5 boards for Sunray, who suffered their second straight loss and dropped to 1-2 in win-loss card.
